Greater Anglia Trains Receive Praise
It is not every day that Trains From Hell has the privilege of blogging about praised trains services! In January 2017, it was announced that passengers found the rail services supplied by Greater Anglia had improved in most areas during 2016. These numbers were released after an official survey was carried out by watchdogs’ Passenger Focus.
It was discovered that around 80% of passengers who took part in the survey and regularly travelled on Greater Anglia Trains were satisfied with their journeys on the service, stating that the trains were more frequent compared to 2016 and the occurrence of delays or cancellations had reduced despite still being quite common. In addition to this, the survey also found that 83% of Greater Anglia commuters were happy with the facilities provided at the station, such as the bathrooms available and the overall cleanliness of the platforms.
The Managing Director for Greater Anglia Trains was reported to have said that the survey results showed that the companies was focusing on refurbishing the trains, increasing the number of available seats and improving how clean the trains and stations were. She also added that these factors, coupled with the revamping of certain stations, evidently lead to an increase in customer satisfaction.
Despite these positive reviews, there are some circumstances where train delays are simply unavoidable. Whether the cause be weather, overcrowding or emergency engineering, commuters are still entitled to compensation if their service was delayed by 30 minutes or longer.
